This page tells you about all the different kinds of dragons and where you can find them.


The Knucker,

The Knucker is found in damp, woodland locations, near food sources such as rabbit warrens. Snake-like in apperience, these creatures have small wings so cannot fly. The knucker is located mostley through out Europe.

Lair or Nest- A deep pond, well, or "knucker hole".

Dimensions- [Adult] 30 feet long; 3 to 6 feet high.

Coloration- Leathery brown, dull red, greenish blue.

Forms of Attack- Constriction, Venemous bite.

Food- Stray children, Farm animals, Deer, Rabbits.

The European,

Know to most people for their love of treasure and ability to breath fire, this species is now confined to a few remote areas. They shed their skin often, and have an amazing ability to use language.

Lair or Nest- A sea cave or mountain in a remote area.

Dimensions- [Adult] 45 feet long; 13 to 17 feet high.

Coloration- Green, Red, Black and occasionally Gold.

Forms of Attack- Tail, Flame, Claws, Horns.

Food- Sheep, cattle, humans-[the last only if no other food source is available due to bitter flavour].


The Frost Dragon,

Annual migrators of Arctic-to-Antarctic travels, frost dragons fly thousands of miles each year to make sure they spend the greater part of their year in their favourite dark, winter climates looking for food.

Lair or Nest-  A sea-facing cave hollowed from an iceberg or glacier.

Dimensions- [Adult] 40 feet long; 12 to 15 feet high.

Coloration- Pure white, or white tinged with pink or blue.

Forms of Attack- Tail, claws, horns, or a terrible frost blast.

Food- Polar bear, giant squid, leopard seal, walrus, orca.

Tibetan,

Redder and thinner then its cousin, the Asian Lung, the Tibetan dragon is a lover of high altitudes. Its main prey is the Himalayan Yeti, a large mountain ape that has adapted to the cold conditions and rarefied atmosphere found in the higher mountains.

Dimensions- [Adult] 40 feet long; 10 to 12 feet high.

Coloration- Almost invariably red.

Forms of Attack- Constriction, or else biting.

Food- sometimes yaks, but mostly the large himalayan yetis.



Asian Lung,

Lung are most often found near streams, rivers, and lakes that hide their underwater lair. Females carry their eggs for saftey, using the lairs to hide their opals and pearls they hoard away. The number of toes varies from each subspecies.

Lair or Nest- Usually an underwater grotto or cave.

Dimensions- [Adult] 40 feet long; 12 to 15 feet high.

Coloration- Black, white, red, yellow, or blue.

Forms of Attack- Teeth, horns, and claws used defensively.

Food- Mainly fish or birds, particularly roasted swan.

Subspieces- Japenese Lung have four toes, Indonesian Lung have three toes, Chinese or Imperial Lung have five toes.

Lindworm,

Fleet of foot as a wild horse, the Lindworm is most often seen at a distance, sometimes in pairs, chasing its prey of wild Bactrian camels on the huge, empty steppes of the Asian interior.

Lair or Nest- A shallow nest or scratch in the earth out of the wind.

Dimensions- [Adult] 35 feet long; 8 to 10 feet high.

Coloration- Usually green, sandy yellow, or pale orange.

Forms of Attack- Constriction, claws.

Food- Bactrian (two humped) camels. The Lindworm sometimes menaces silk caravans by night.


Wyvern,

Unlike most dragons, the Wyvern only has two feet. However, being the largest species of dragon, it finds these perfectly sufficiant for carrying off its elephant prey.

Lair or Nest- A rocky crag, or occasianlly a circular nest in an area of grass or sand dunes.

Dimensions- [Adult] 50 feet long; 18 to 20 feet high.

Coloration- Lime green to muddy brown.

Forms of Attack- Lashing tail, claws, teeth, dropping from great hights.

Food- Hippos, rhinos, elephants or other large herbivores.

Amphithere,

In addition to the well-know Mexican feathered amiphithere, there is a fuzzy North American variety the primarily hunts buffalo and has sometimes been mistaken for a giant moth.

Lair or Nest- Among the reeds on offshore islands or lakesides.

Dimensions- [Adult] 45 feet long; 5 to 10 feet high.

Coloration- Green.

Forms of Attack- Constriction, tail lashing, flaming breath.

Food- All large indigenous mammals of the Americas, typiclly buffalo in the north, and llamas in the south.


Marsupial,

Thought to be extinct, the marsupial dragon is largley confined to southeastern Australia. It breathes blue smoke, and often starts bush fires to catch its prey.

Lair or Nest- Rocky caves in the Blue Mountain eucalyptus forests.

Dimensions- [Adult] 25 feet long; 15 to 18 feet high.

Coloration- Blueish or green.

Forms of Attack- Lashing tail, kicking feet, flaming breath, boxing "fists".

Food- Any large marsupials; smaller prey are sought while rearing young.
